You can find blackberries practically everywhere in August, but the best place to really enjoy them is at the Blackberry Arts Festival in downtown Coos Bay. Arts, crafts, jewelry, woodworking and a whole lot more are on hand, along with, of course, blackberry treats, food, and drinks. Don’t miss the Blackberry Jam—no, not the sweet-tasting kind. This Jam is a two-day musical extravaganza of local musicians on the main stage singing classic hits, country, rock, blues, and folk. More than 26 classical, opera and chamber music performances from world-class stars and ensembles rarely seen outside of the United States’ largest cities. Renowned singer from New York City’s Metropolitan Opera and 2012’s sold-out performer Angela Meade will return to Oregon’s North Coast along with fellow Met performer Amber Wagner for more dazzling period performances at the restored Liberty Theater.

Brookings-Harbor Farmers Market is a year round market every Wednesday and Saturday 10-3. We are in the big White event tent at 15786 Hwy 101 south Brookings. Just south of Pedroli on the ocean side of the Hwy. We take food stamps and have limited matching funds for veggies. We always have produce and lots of local food and artisans. 541-661-3860

Rhododendron Festival - Third oldest flower festival on the West Coast celebrates the wild rhododendrons that thrive along the Oregon Coast. The festival includes a wide variety of fun throughout the weekend and includes parades, flower show spotlighting rhododendrons, car show, arts and craft fair, 5K run, carnival and much more.

The annual Charleston Seafood Festival located at the Charleston Marina come for food, fun, music and crafts. This is the second year the Charleston Volunteer Firefighters’ Association has hosted this event celebrating the harvest from the sea. We hope to have over 50 vendors to be there selling food, crafts, shirts, trinkets and lots more.

The Art and brewfest in Gold Beach, Oregon, at the Event Center on the Beach (Curry County Fairgrounds). We have booked bands to play on two stages, lined up brewery sponsors, and area hotels are located nearby. This year, we expect to have an even larger selection of microbrews / craftbrews than the 45 kegs we had last year. And the finest Oregon coast artists and craft artisans will be showing off their latest crafts and creations.

There are more than 350,000 holiday lights to be seen while visiting Shore Acres State Park during the holiday season. The season to view the Christmas lights begins normally the day after Thanksgiving and ends a few days after the New Year. It is open from 4pm to 9:30 pm every night. There is a $5 dollar per vehicle admission fee to the park
